Morning, friends! I thought I would try something new… and share something other than jewelry or grief—a shopping list of some of my favorite things. I want my SubStax to feel like a warm hug, familiar, a walk in the park at golden hour… but most of all I want it to feel personal, with pieces sprinkled throughout that don’t break the bank account but still make you feel like a million bucks. If you know me, you know I shudder at the thought of leaving someone out, and always want to be the most inclusive, so this week’s issue is all about that… A little something for everyone. Spring makes me feel all sorts of whimsy, so let’s give this a whirl!
Starting with the hottest topic JELLIES! Everyone is clucking about The Row jellies, which I totally get, they're the shoe of the season it seems, but for me, jellies are all about the memory of being a kid running around with Italian ices and having rainbow jellies on, sticky with sugar, and washing them off without a care in the world. The idea of super $$$ jellies sort of defeats the point for me. So I settled on a somewhat pricey pair, but still in the realm of realistically priced. Take a gander at these jelly sandals by the same brand in a different silhouette. And lastly, in case you love a matching moment with your kid, I’ve been buying these Old Navy jellies for my daughter (she’s almost 5 now) for years, and they are the best, and smell like fruity candy. You’re welcome!
This Carolina Bucci FORTE Bead necklace is a vacation in beaded form. Bucci’s FORTE Beads collection is comprised of vibrant hard stone beads in all colors and a lurex cord. You can also make your own design here. I personally want a whole necklace of these Florentine finish gold beads…
This acid green Gulliver Bolide 35 Hermes Bag, needs no caption. But I will say, I love this color and the shape, it’s feminine without feeling dainty, and it’s such a striking shade of green for the spring and summer.
As I mentioned in my last Mother's Day substack, I wear these bangles every day, never take mine off, and I have a matching one with my daughter, a friendship bangle. These layered all summer mixed in are like a dose of sunshine. Buy the baby/kid version here—the sweetest bangle at the sweetest price.
These sunglasses remind me of the ones I would buy as a teenager at CVS, my BluBlockers, that immediately made me feel like her! These Salt sunglasses have become a staple of mine, I have a few of their styles, I rotate daily... “With its roots firmly planted in the racing circuits of the 1970’s, the ROCKWOOD is a bold acetate aviator with attitude to spare. BAM!
Cosmic Glow! I've been obsessed with this oil for years and use it daily on my face or I mix in a few drops into my body moisturizer for extra dewy skin and because it smells like a nectar of the Gods! It’s made carefully in small batches, and the result is a light and deeply nourishing facial oil blend. It contains Vitamin C and Omega fatty acids that help to penetrate the skin quickly, leaving it feeling pampered and hydrated. Oh, and your vanity will be chicer just for having the bottle on it… The packaging is perfection.
I recently had the pleasure of hosting the jewelry brand EREDE in LA (one fab trunk show hosted by moi and Camilla Marcus, and an intimate dinner at Etra with the chicest Maria McManus, if you don’t know her brand, now you do! Not only are the two female founders the absolute best, the dream team, their work is so elegant, elevated, and ethical. Designed with wearability and longevity at the forefront of mind, each EREDE piece is meticulously handmade in New York using only the most enduring and ethical materials. It was love at first sight when I saw the Delta Signet Ring, and it's joined my personal collection, and will be a staple of mine as it literally lights up the room(s).
Since summer is always chock-full of festivities, weddings, parties, I'm highlighting this dress by my best friend, who happens to be the brains behind my favorite brand for over a decade, Alix of Bohemia. I loooove this dress, and the way it moves.
Last but not least, the best lippie for day/night/beach/ball. I love the scent, the texture, and it somehow really looks "natural" and not caked on, oh and it sort of smells like cupcakes in the best way.
That’s all for now, have to go get my kids to school! It’s Teacher Appreciation week, and on that note, I APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
Love, Victoria
WOW! Jellies are back 👏🏼 I can't wait to tell my daughter, I tell her a story from the 80's every night. Jellies were part of one of my recent stories 🥰 xo Carla
