This reminded me of my emotional connection to jewelry. Having moved out into the country (where I met you!), I spend so much of my time with dirt under my fingernails and on my clothes, in an outfit plucked from the chair beside my bed (where I had left it the evening before). Oof. I can get a little too practical these days.

My grandmother LOVED jewelry and I loved her so much. I can hear her bracelets now. I loved how glamorous she always seemed. Reading this makes me want to wear more jewelry as a connection to her and as a way of bringing some glamour back into my own life. It can be so invigorating! This also reminds me of my fave Helena Bonham Carter quote:

“I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.”

Jewelry is such great art :)

See you on Monday!!
